No this is not my kid, but This kid really looked like a mini Michael Jackson too me. This post is just for my Sister Andrea. The story behind Halloween. So as you know I spend all this time and planning making my kids into the Potter Crew this year. I bought the costumes at the end of last Halloween and found all the accessories and even sewed Sydney's robe. Anywho, They wore it to a few parties and then trunk or treat and were tired being the Potters so on Halloween night I let the kids just dig in our costume box and dress themselves the second picture is the result. I hope that made any sense and my Christmas post is underneath this one.
I hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas. I learned a valuable lesson at church last Sunday. I am a counselor in primary and was teaching the story of the nativity to the children when I asked the children "why do we receive gifts at Christmas?" and Reid shot his hand up and said "because Santa comes." I knew then I had focused to much of my time on the materialism and the worldly traditions of society. I realized I can not depend on anyone else to teach my children the nativity story or any other of the gospel principles. I am thankful the Lord taught me this lesson early in the Christmas season, I experienced the same exhilaration as Scrooge, in the Christmas Carol, when I realized it was not too late I still have time to change. I wish all my fellow mothers a wonderful Christmas with their children young and old.

Well I totally forgot to Blog about Darin's big fish story. As many of you know we went to Mexico last month. We had the opportunity to go deep sea fishing while we were down there. We were out all morning my one fish got away Darin had caught a Durango but it was Marlin season and we were a little disappointed that we had not got a bite. I did not know then catching a Marlin was a big deal because I am such a big fisher my self. Anywho, right before we began to head back in Darin and I spotted the fins of two Marlin's by the boat. Our guide threw out the bait and then Darin took it from there 1 hour and 30 min. later Darin got his 200 lbs Marlin. Being the tree huggers we are we let it go but what a blast, the thing was beautiful it was black and purple. Congratulations to my man.
We are so glad the cold weather is finally here. This is a picture of my kids playing in the front yard with all the leaves what a blast. There are days that staying home can be a little less than glamorous but I do not think any other job in the world has so many amazing days like this that are so rewarding and full of such abundant happiness. I can only pray these days can last forever.
